Blemishes, facial lines, scars, uneven pigmentation, and acne are not topics on the top of everybody’s discussion list but we want you to know that if you do experience any of these, you are not alone!
A lot of the time people do nothing to try and treat their problem areas however ABSAMC think there’s no need to hide away as there is an amazing procedure that helps ALL of these.
The Chemical Blue Peel, a miracle peel in our eyes! The chemical blue peel uses a chemical solution to smooth the texture of your skin by removing the damaged outer layers. It is one of the least invasive ways to improve the appearance of your skin. Although chemical peels are used mostly on the face, they can also be used to improve the skin on your neck and hands.
Before the procedure
Before having a chemical blue peel it is important that you have a consultation with your chosen doctor and go through any medical history you may have especially mention any skin conditions or skin troubles you have if any.
Your face will be cleansed by your doctor to ensure there is a good base to work on, this doesn’t involve any discomfort, it is very much just like washing your face with a daily face wash.
The blue peel is applied to the skin with a cosmetic sponge. The great thing about the blue peel is that it is colored therefore you can see exactly where you are putting the solution. This allows you to have an even application and the doctor can see how deep the peel is going and allows some control over the peel. You may feel a slight sting once the peel is on the face however this only lasts for 5 minutes and will then settle down.
The peel now dries, and in this time, it is still working its magic. The acid is still going into the tissues however once it is dry it will self-neutralize. On the same day, some of the blue will be removed and then over the next few days the rest of the blue will be removed. Over the next week your skin will feel tight and you will start to get some flaking of the skin which is the peel falling off.
Over the next few days you will notice the skin feeling very tight and you will get some more cracking and peeling however after 1 week this should all have fallen off and your face will start to feel normal again. You will now start to see the results.
It is important to really look after your skin for up to 6 weeks after the procedure. The skin is extremely sensitive to UV rays so you must wear sunblock every day. You may even apply the block twice a day and wear a hat if you want to be extra precautious. Your skin may feel a little sensitive to touch so be careful but this will only last a few weeks. After 6 weeks, your skin will be looking a lot fresher, tighter and all of the blemishes, facial lines, scars, uneven pigmentation, and acne will be gone. Hallelujah!
Benefits of the chemical blue peel
The obvious benefits of the chemical blue peel are listed above however, there are a few other points that make the peel even more attractive. The fact that the procedure will not burn too much of a hole in your pocket is always a plus! Compared to a lot of other cosmetic procedures, the price is relatively low yet the results are outstanding. Another good point is that there is no down time. There is minimal pain, and although you may be a little blue for a few days, that soon goes, and you can easily continue with your day to day life.
