If you want to improve the contours of your body and achieve a more aesthetic and appealing curvature, liposuction is ideal. Liposuction removes unwanted fat from targeted areas of the body, such as the abdomen, hips, thighs, back, arms, chest or neck – the choice is yours.
Crucially, it’s important to have realistic goals before undergoing liposuction. However, if you are physically healthy, average weight, and have firm yet elastic skin, then you are the ideal candidate for Liposuction procedure.
If you are considering liposuction, please take a moment to familiarize yourself with the following information about the procedure, preparation, types of liposuction, and recovery period. This information compliments your consultation, rather than replacing it, and will equip you with the prior knowledge needed to ask your doctor the most pressing and pertinent questions you have about liposuction.
For Pure Tumescent Liposuction.
We perform liposuction using two different techniques:
Tumescent liposuction has many benefits. For example, blood loss is reduced and intravenous fluid replacement is not necessary. Plus, tumescence magnifies the defects, so you are less likely to need a second procedure.
Using a mixture of local anesthetics and adrenaline, we create a special solution called tumescent fluid, which is inserted into the treated area through microscopic access points. The fluid reacts with the fat, making it easier to remove, whilst simultaneously numbing the treated area, and reducing and controlling bleeding. A cannula (or thin tube) is inserted into the treated area via tiny incisions and removes the liquefied fat by suction.
With UAL, there is even less blood loss than with tumescent liposuction. UAL is a popular option for sculpting more sinewy areas, such as the upper back or the male breast.
This type of Liposuction uses special probes, which emit ultrasound energy toward the treated area and burst the cell walls, turning the fat into liquid. The fat is then removed by suction using a cannula (or thin tube) via tiny incisions in the skin.
In order to achieve the best results possible, it’s important you are fully prepared for both before and after the procedure. Simply follow these steps and in next to no time your dream body can become a reality.
During your consultation, it’s important that you are open and honest with the doctor about your medical history and any medication you are currently taking. This includes all vitamins, supplements and herbs – we need to know about everything, no matter how insignificant you think something might be.
Before and after the procedure, it’s critical you follow the following steps to maximize the positive results you’ll enjoy from the liposuction treatment:
The recovery process differs for everyone, but a few weeks of discomfort will be worth it for the fantastic improvements you’ll enjoy afterwards.
It’s completely normal to experience a loss of sensation in the treated areas. However, as your nerves begin to regenerate, feeling and sensation will return as before. You should also expect some bruising, swelling and pain immediately after your procedure. Swelling may linger for as long as several months.
Medication will be prescribed to alleviate any feelings of discomfort. However, if you begin to experience severe pain, you should contact us immediately.
Within a day of your liposuction procedure, you should be able to get up and walk around. Excess tumescent fluid will most likely drain from the access points for the first couple of days and you may witness blood-tinged fluid as well – do not be alarmed. You may shower on the second or third day after the procedure.
Depending on the extent of your treatment and the number of areas affected, you may need to take a break from work and your usual routine for the first week. Over the next two or three weeks, the treated areas may remain very sensitive, and as such, strenuous physical activity should be avoided. You will also be required to wear a special compression garment for up to a month to ensure a smooth and aesthetic contour to the treated areas.
Following this period, you may gradually return to physical activities such as heavy lifting, exercise and sex. Avoid any high-impact activities for around one month. In particular, steer clear of jogging and bouncing activities for up to six weeks.
Taking these precautions will help to avoid stress on the treated areas and allow sufficient time for adequate healing and recovery. All liposculpturing procedures are performed using very small incisions, about the size of this line – - – - -,
and so any scarring will be minimal and unobtrusive.
You can expect to see fantastic results within six weeks of Liposuction. The treated areas will look toned and supple and your whole body will glow with new-found luster.
The treated areas will retain their sculptured appearance as long as you maintain the same weight. If you gain weight, normally it will appear in areas other than those that were treated.
